Results taken from a Gallup poll conducted throughout October have shown that God, Supreme Leader of the Christian faith and creator of the planet Earth, has seen His approval rating plummet to just 29% - His lowest in almost 1,000 years.
The deity, who has commanded the following of Western believers for over two thousand years, has come under mounting pressure recently, following His mishandling of various natural disasters and disease outbreaks.
"When Katrina came and destroyed my house, I started to lose faith in the Lord Above", said New Orleans resident, Jolene Brown. "Makes you wonder whether He is actually up there, doing His job".
Many have leveled their anger at God for not doing more to prevent the outbreak and spread of viruses such as the Swine Flu epidemic, while many Christians charge that the virus was "God's will".
"I was bed ridden for 10 days", said French postman, Giles Clement. "There were times when I questioned my faith in the good Lord, even if it was him who got me through it in the end. The Lord really does work in mysterious ways".
For His part, God today insisted that He is still the right man to run the planet, and has no desire to step down. "I never listen to polls anyway", He said. "I am just here to do a job and I intend to get on with serving the very people who elected me to this position... those people being me".
Meanwhile, the poll also found that people from the Agnostic community are still undecided about which deity to follow, while 20 million Atheists the world over have reported a lack of interest in organised religion.
