A scientific study into the history of
the
Earth has found that intelligent beings
may once have existed on the planet.
The study reports that the world of politics possessed an abundance of "fairly intelligent beings" as recently as 1938, only for these beings to die out soon after.
"Between the period of 1939 and 1945, an event of epic proportions took place, setting off a catastrophic chain reaction throughout the world", said the report.
"The resulting decline in political intelligence has been seen mostly in third world countries and in the United States".
The study also found that intelligent pre-teen pupils may once have roamed the planet's surface, only to be wiped out by a deadly onslaught of reality TV shows and mind numbingly dull celebrity rumours.
Following the discovery of small traces of brilliance in public libraries, it has been widely speculated that intelligent life once walked the surface of the Earth.
However, it has been observed that people are now so unintelligent that it has become impossible for any of them to follow up on research.
