Myanmar devastation was due to "administrative failures"
Almighty God has issued an official apology to
the people of Burma, after admitting that Cyclone Nargis was
actually intended for the city of New Orleans.
Speaking from the Gates of Heaven this morning, God
candidly addressed the people of Myanmar, urging them to "pull
together and accept that mistakes sometimes happen".
"I take full responsibility for the devastation" said God. "Sometimes in the everyday management of an institution like Heaven, messages do get lost. I'm sorry".
Heaven's courier services are being heavily scrutinised as questions mount over how the cyclone ended up 9,000 miles from its intended destination. "It was an administrative failure. God had something really big planned for New Orleans - bigger than Katrina - and instead it was wasted on the Burmese".
Burma's military dictator, General Thein Sein, is thought to be saddened by the catastrophe, but insisted his military junta will not be seeking compensation from God.
"Why would we seek compensation for what has happened?" Said Sein. "Thousands of civilians have perished. That is compensation enough".
Since the disaster occurred, Chinese authorities have questioned whether yesterday's fatal earthquake was also the result of "faulty management" by the Lord Above.
"No", said a relieved God. "That one was intended".
