Global Crisis: Al Gore Leaves Laptop
on Standby

Nooooo! The moment Gore realised his blunder
Former US Vice President and
Nobel Prize winner, Al Gore, has
extended widespread apologies to supporters and
fellow climate change campaigners after
forgetfully leaving his laptop computer on standby throughout
Thanksgiving festivities.
Gore, who had spent the early part of the day giving a PowerPoint
presentation on climate change, said that as soon as members of his
extended family started showing up, it was “difficult to keep tabs
on things like that”.
“It wasn’t my fault,” pleaded an emotional Gore. “You see, Tipper – my wife – has got this one Aunt who talks an awful lot and, by the time she’d finished, the turkey needed taking out of the oven and several drinks later the pumpkin pie was ready. Everything hit me at once and I guess I took my eye off the ball. I’m sorry”.
Gore's reckless actions are not thought to have contributed to the recent sea level rise, but environmentalists the world over have branded him an "extremely lucky man" not to have caused more damage to an already "fragile global environment".
"If Gore hadn't noticed the standby light when he did, we might have had another Cuban Missile Crisis on our hands, only with the climate as the missiles," said a green campaigner.
