A jury concluded yesterday that Diana was unlawfully killed due to the gross negligence of her driver, but little has been said regarding the death of Mr al Fayed.
"What happened to Dodi al Fayed is irrelevant at this stage. He was never the public figure that Diana was. Besides, people don't want to see their taxes going toward yet another inquest...especially when the man was an Arab", said coroner Lord Justice Scott Baker. Following yesterday's verdict, members of the jury went as far as to admit not even knowing who Dodi al Fayed was. "To answer your question, we haven't presided over a Mr al Fayed", said one of the jurors. "Is he with al Qaeda?"
Meanwhile, Princes William and Harry have welcomed the verdict into their mother's death, but have so far showed little interest in a second verdict for Mr al Fayed. In a statement they dismissed the prospect of such a verdict taking place.
"Dodi was just another man in mum's life. First there was dad, then came James (Hewitt), followed by Will (Carling). Dodi was nothing special", said William.
"Granddad fucking hated him. Said he'd do anything to have him bumped off", added Harry.
