Andrew's friends amount to a nice round number
A socially inept Cambridge student has launched the world's first
anti-social networking site, Facelessbook.com.
Andrew Miller, 21, says he has remained incredibly
unpopular throughout his three years at Cambridge and so decided to
launch the site on behalf of himself and other loners. An email was
sent to the Daily Fortnight from Miller,
in which he outlined how his website will work.
"Basically, the aim of Facelessbook is to make your face known to as few people as possible. Instead of adding new friends, users are encouraged to 'deny' people as and when a friendship request is made", said the email. "This way you avoid having to 'talk' to people and you get to offend them at the same time".
Miller went on to say that he didn't want major news outlets reporting the launch, as this could "unleash too many Facelessbook members". "We need to make enough money to break even and that's it. That's why I targeted small time media sources, such as the Daily Fortnight - so they could promote us to that position without too many people joining us. Loners like me just get anxious in huge crowds".
