Presidential candidate, John McCain, has been shot down during a routine mission over North California and is being held prisoner by a Democrat militia.

The Senator is thought to have been shot down late last night, however a spokesperson from his campaign only confirmed him missing this morning after a video appeared on the internet.

In the video Mr McCain appears in front of two masked guards, and is heard to denounce Republican policies and demand a complete withdrawal of all Republicans from the Senate. Bruises on Mr McCain's face appear to show that he has been tortured.

Experts are currently analysing the video for any clues as to the Senator's whereabouts, although it is thought that he is being held deep inside enemy territory somewhere in the hills around San Francisco.

A little known group called the United Front of Revolutionary Democrats has claimed responsibility for the Senator's imprisonment.
