Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton has vowed to completely withdraw herself and staffers from the Democratic race by Christmas if she and Barack Obama can agree on a peace deal.
Speaking after her narrow victory in the state of Indiana last night, Clinton said that the party's internal fighting will likely continue for a few more gruelling months, with Clinton herself pledging to "stay the course". "I know that the war between myself and Barack Obama is an unpopular one", said Clinton. "But I promise to withdraw my bid for the Democratic Nomination after the general election if a deal is reached. I can see no better time".
Senator Clinton has come under growing criticism for her recent refusal to withdraw from the race, which has been marred by career suicide attacks and character assassination attempts.
"The conflict must end soon or America will become a breeding ground for Republicans", said Senator Ted Kennedy. "Hillary has to withdraw from the race and hand power over to Barack Obama".
Clinton recently approved extra funding for the democratic conflict, loaning $6 million to her campaign.
Relatives of campaign staffers say the time is right for their loved ones to return home after months of brutal campaigning.
