Jesus: No deal with other gods
Jesus Christ today moved to quell rumours that he has been engaged in secret coalition talks with other deities.
It is thought that Christ may try to negotiate a power sharing agreement with either Buddha or Vishnu in a bid to consolidate theocratic power against a resurgent atheism. Recent polls indicate that atheism is gaining popularity, fuelled by Richard Dawkins' recent book 'The God Delusion' and the general disillusionment with organised faiths.
However, in a rare press conference, Jesus angrily denied the speculation, saying "I have absolutely no plans to enter into power-sharing agreements with other deities at this time".
Observers say that the Christianity Party has seen declining popularity as a result of a series of damaging scandals, including rumours of an alleged genocide enacted by God and Noah. It is thought that any such agreement could be part of a strategy to win over the crucial agnostic swing vote, as all parties continue to campaign ahead of Judgement Day.
