Embattled Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, was facing fresh allegations last night that he had failed to declare his own incompetence prior to his election. The news comes after Peter Hain was forced to resign over the failure to disclose donations to his deputy leadership, and ongoing allegations of non-disclosure of other donations to the Labour Party.

"It is an absolute disgrace that, once again, we are told that this government has failed to disclose information to the proper authorities", said Tory backbench MP, Timothy Hendon-Jones. "Now we hear that the Prime Minister himself failed to tell anyone that he was in fact incompetent, when he was legally and morally required to do so".

The Prime Minister's official spokesman blamed the failure on "incompetence".
