The character assassination attempt was caught on live TV
Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton has survived a brutal character assassination attempt which has reportedly left several aides seriously wounded.

The attack, which was caught on camera, happened on Thursday’s evening news. The images clearly show the would-be assassin unleashing a relentless attack on Senator Clinton’s record, drawing particular attention to unresolved scandals including the Whitewater property affair and Clinton’s alleged involvement in the death of White House Counsel Vince Foster in 1996.

Although sources have confirmed that Hillary Clinton appears to have escaped unharmed, several aides from the Clinton camp who were caught in the crossfire are thought to be fighting for their political lives this evening. Some insiders are praising the heroism of several junior staffers who threw themselves into the firing line in a bid to save the Senator’s career.

Motives for the attack remain unclear, although Clinton is thought to have a large number of enemies. Several scandals associated with the Clintons' rise to power have claimed the lives of nearly thirty associates and colleagues of the Clintons since the 1980s.

The news network was quick to condemn the attack as the work of a "lone anchorman" and stressed that the assassination attempt was not part of a wider conspiracy.
