World number 1 Roger Federer successfully came back from a set and 3-1 down to beat some guy at tennis today, making it thirteen straight victories against random, less competent tennis players.
Advancing to the semi-finals of the Australian Open, which Federer will win against some other guy on the 31st January, the Swiss put in a monumental display to see off a nondescript and irrelevant opponent, who was allegedly there for no other reason than to "make up the numbers".
"I kind of let whatever-his-name-was take an early lead", said the 28-year-old superstar. "I just wanted to make things more interesting for the spectators, who paid good money to see me humiliate yet another Joe Bloggs on the tennis court. Bring on whoever it is I'm defeating in the semi finals".
BBC sports pundits - themselves supposedly former players of the game - heaped praise on Federer following his stunning victory, which meant he had beaten his own record of 22 consecutive Grand Slam semi finals.
"What a dazzling display by Federer", said the blonde female presenter. "The other guy just didn't have a chance against those deadly backhands and sharp reflexes".
"Be sure to tune in to watch Roger's superb and decisive victory in the next round live on BBC1", she concluded.
