A distraught Britney blamed herself for her
career's death
The career of American pop princess and former
virgin, Britney Spears, was
pronounced
dead today by media analysts across America, in what authorities are
treating as "a clear case of suicide".
It was 25.
Miss Spears’ body of work was found unconscious shortly after the singer’s now infamous performance at this years’ MTV Video Music Awards ceremony in Las Vegas, where her lip-synching was uncharacteristically off. In an attempt at emergency resuscitation, Spears flew immediately back to Los Angeles, however her career was pronounced dead on arrival.
Speaking Tuesday morning on NBC, Miss Spears talked of her "profound shock and sudden sense of loss", at her career’s passing.
“I miss it so much, and even though I probably shouldn’t, I feel like I’m somehow to blame for what has happened”, said Spears. When asked how much Miss Spears’ career meant to her, she replied, “About a hundred million dollars, if you want to get technical”.
A funeral service has been arranged for the end of September. The service will open with the release of Britney’s Greatest Hits.
