Experts say the ad 'appears to be authentic'
Bearded evil mastermind Osama Bin Laden has appeared in an advert for Sony’s
new Handycam.
In the 30 second advert, Bin Laden is seen praising Sony Corporation’s contribution to the Islamic faith in producing its latest consumer video camera. "With a 2.5 inch LCD screen and built-in selection of wipe effects, this is truly a video camera fit for Allah himself", said Bin Laden. The move appears to be a change of direction, following the poor reception of his most recent cinematic release.
The advert, which first appeared on Islamic websites on Friday after prayers, is being analysed by experts in the Pentagon, although early indications are that the video is authentic. Experts are using sophisticated beard imaging techniques to determine the date of the video, and are carefully examining for any clues to future terrorist attacks.
Sources close to the al-Qaeda leader told the Daily Fortnight that the Handycam is Bin Laden’s favourite consumer electronic device after his Nintendo Wii.
