Even the cost of upmarket mud huts are set to soar
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
has reported a widespread fall in mud hut prices across Zimbabwe.
A decline of almost 100,000,000% has been estimated in some regions, with the average cost of mud huts falling from 3 cows to
-80,000 cows in under a month.
The people affected most by the crash are expected to be supporters of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC). Most MDC supporters have been looking for new accommodation since 2005, when Robert Mugabe had them thrown onto the streets for "not paying their rent on time".
The crash is also likely to put financial strain on
first time mud hut owners, as the mortgage
rates for inner city mud huts are likely to soar by 10,000% over the
next three days.
